If one of your teens enjoys babysitting, you can volunteer to babysit together while our parents participate in workshops, meetings, or special events at the Day Center.

Like to cook? You can prepare a meal at home with your family or friends to deliver to a host congregation. If you’d like to meet our families, we invite volunteers to stay for dinner and share the evening with our guests and their children.

On the weekends, adult volunteers answer the phone, do activities with children, and are a welcoming presence for our guests. During the week, we often seek assistance in the office with mailings, covering the phones, or administrative projects. Teens are welcome with an adult over 18.

We count on a core group of more than 70 volunteers who are involved in the daily operations of the Pantry. They work directly with clients, pick up food from local grocers and farms and deliver it to the Pantry, stock and organize shelves, and assist with the Mobile Pantry and Healthy Futures Market. We are so appreciative of the community’s desire to support us in our mission. If we can’t use you as a volunteer, you are always welcome to hold food drives for us, but we ask that you contact first us so we can provide guidance about our greatest needs.

We have a special event each year in early November and need many volunteers for a successful effort: Scouting for Food is our largest food drive. You can volunteer to help us process the donations that day.

With your school or office, in your neighborhood, with a sports group, or somewhere of your choosing – collect food items, coats, school supplies, etc. and donate them to Project Just Because to help people in need.

Suggested items: Baskets or Beach Pails, Small Stuffed Animals, Small Outdoor Toys (chalk, bubbles, jump ropes, etc.), Coloring Books & Crayons.
