For a span of about six weeks in February and March, we collect buckets of sap from sugar maple trees in Concord and boil it into syrup, donated at Thanksgiving to families seeking hunger relief. Space is limited and the schedule is variable.

From April through October, we depend upon thousands of helping hands working outside with us morning and afternoon. When you arrive, you walk out through the fields to our farm pavilion. The first Friday of every month is a dedicated Women Build day on one of our construction sites. National Women Build Week is held every year in May.

Working closely with the construction manager, crew leaders guide, teach and engage small groups of unskilled or semi-skilled volunteers. Crew Leaders demonstrate tasks, maintain standards, monitor safety and assure that volunteers have enough meaningful work to have a satisfying experience. A Crew Leader should enjoy working with people, possess some basic construction skills, enjoy leadership…

As a construction volunteer, you’ll learn new skills or improve current ones, meet some terrific people and leave at the end of the day knowing that you’ve helped build a safe, decent and affordable home for a local family in need. You don’t need construction experience to volunteer; we provide the training, materials and tools.
